About Dansons Inc

People automatically assume that Dansons Inc. was created by the use of a last name. In fact, this family-run business was actually born of the use of a first name, Dan. Dan Thiessen’s eldest son, Jeremy created the name to pay tribute to the relationship of its two employees to the head of the company, and further, to create the foundation as a family-run operation with pride in ownership and a sense of where it came from.

This attitude has translated into astonishing growth. In only six years, Dansons Inc. grew from a staff of three to a staff of over a hundred, running twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Dansons Inc. was born of the desire to turn the waste of sawmills into a reliable source of energy. In the nine years since its inception, Dansons has gone from a humble three-office space in Calgary, to a large 80,000 square foot facility in Edmonton, Alberta,Canada.
